The International Institute for Health, Safety and Environment (IIHSE) was officially established in 2024 under the legal structure of the “International Institute for Health, Safety and Environment Association,” with the aim of promoting a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to the protection of human health, human safety, and environmental sustainability. The Institute emerged from a collaborative initiative launched in 2020, involving a series of research projects, seminars, and panel discussions addressing the growing global challenges of occupational accidents, work-related diseases, and environmental threats.
Since its inception, IIHSE has served as a bridge between academia, civil society, the private sector, and public institutions, developing innovative training programs, scientific research, policy recommendations, and social impact projects. IIHSE has stood out in Turkey with its drama-based approaches to occupational health and safety (OHS) education and has made pioneering contributions to the modernization of education through presentations at prominent events such as the UNESCO Chair for Environment, Canada OHS Week, and other international symposiums.
Over time, IIHSE has also expanded its focus areas to include environmental management, sustainable development, and digital safety. As of 2024, the Institute has started to build a global network of experts based on volunteer engagement. Through academic publications, sectoral consulting, and international collaborations, it has strengthened its impact across borders. In the same year, IIHSE introduced digital membership and subscription models to broaden its participant base and enhance its reach through open-access scientific publishing and lifelong learning platforms.
Today, IIHSE continues to serve as a knowledge and impact hub for professionals, academics, and policymakers working in fields such as occupational health and safety, environmental management, public health, disaster risk reduction, and climate change.
