Personal Data Protection – Clarification Text
- General Information About the Law
The Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 was adopted on March 24, 2016, and published in the Official Gazette No. 29677 dated April 7, 2016.
According to Article 32 titled “Enforcement” of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, Articles 8, 9, 11, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18 of this Law came into effect six months after its publication date, starting from October 7, 2016. The Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 was enacted to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals, particularly the privacy of private life, in the processing of personal data, and to regulate the obligations, procedures, and principles that real and legal persons processing personal data must adhere to.
2. Data Controller Information
As the International Institute of Health, Safety, and Environment (“Institute”), we may use your personal data in accordance with the relevant legislation in our capacity as the Data Controller under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698.
3. How Will Your Personal Data Be Processed?
In accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698, as the Institute and in our capacity as the Data Controller, any personal data you share with us may be processed through automatic or non-automatic methods as part of a data recording system. This includes obtaining, recording, storing, maintaining, modifying, reorganizing, disclosing, transferring, acquiring, making available, classifying, or preventing the use of data in various ways.
4. How Is Your Personal Data Collected?
Your personal data may be collected in oral, written, or electronic formats through various channels such as:
– Our corporate website, mobile site, mobile application, call center, sales and marketing department staff,
– Forms collected during voluntary visits by commissions, digital marketing, contracts, applications, forms, offers, or through e-mail, SMS, or other means,
– Information you provide during job applications, at the stage of signing employment contracts, and/or during the working period, and
– Technical communication files, known as “cookies” (small files placed on your hard drive), that allow our computers to automatically recognize you when you visit our website.
- What Are the Purposes and Legal Reasons for Processing Your Personal Data?
The personal data collected from you may be processed in accordance with the fundamental principles set forth in the Law and within the scope of the conditions and purposes for personal data processing specified in Articles 5 and 6 of the Law for the following purposes:
- To promote the services provided by the Institute, recognize Institute members, enhance communication, implement customer satisfaction practices, and conduct marketing, advertising, and promotional activities.
- To fulfill information retention, reporting, and information obligations prescribed by judicial and administrative authorities.
- To ensure the legal, technical, and commercial-business security of the Institute and relevant persons in a business relationship with the Institute.
- To carry out necessary work by relevant business units to realize the commercial activities conducted by the Institute, plan strategies, and execute related business processes.
- To plan and execute the Institute’s human resources policies and processes.

For the purposes mentioned above and in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 and related legislation, your personal data shared with us may be transferred to the following persons/entities: all official authorities and institutions, direct/indirect domestic/foreign subsidiaries of the Institute; other partners within the scope of ordinary partnerships, organizations we cooperate with, program partner organizations, domestic/foreign institutions, and other third parties.
- What Are Your Rights Under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698?
- To learn whether your personal data is being processed,
- To request information if your personal data has been processed,
- To learn the purpose of processing your personal data and whether it is used in accordance with its purpose,
- To know the third parties to whom your personal data is transferred, domestically or internationally,
- To request the correction of incomplete or incorrect personal data,
- To request the deletion or destruction of personal data under the conditions specified in the Law,
- To request notification of the actions taken pursuant to subparagraphs (d) and (e) to third parties to whom your personal data has been transferred,
- To object to a result that arises to your detriment through the exclusive analysis of processed data by automated systems,
- To request compensation for damages arising from the unlawful processing of personal data.
You can exercise the rights listed above by submitting your applications through the following channels:
- By sending an email to the email address info@iihse.com, registered in our system, from the email address you provided during your membership/service agreement.
2. In-Person Application:
By filling out the Personal Data Protection Application Form;
The applicant may visit the address Hekimzade Mahallesi, Çınarlıçeşme Cd. No:5/B Edremit / BALIKESİR in person and submit the application with an official ID.
Note: “Request for Information Under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698” must be written on the envelope.
3. Application via Notary:
By filling out the Personal Data Protection Application Form;
The applicant may send a notification to the address Hekimzade Mahallesi, Çınarlıçeşme Cd. No:5/B Edremit / BALIKESİR through a notary.
Note: The notification envelope must include the statement “Request for Information Under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698.”
4. Application via Registered Electronic Mail (KEP):
By filling out the Personal Data Protection Application Form;
It is sufficient to send an email with the subject “Request for Information Under the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698” signed with a secure electronic signature to our company’s KEP address iihse@hs01.kep.tr.
Depending on the nature of your request, your applications will be concluded as soon as possible and within no more than thirty days free of charge. However, if additional costs are incurred, the Institute reserves the right to charge you according to the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board.
