What does IIHSE Municipality Membership include?

Municipality Membership enables local administrations to benefit from IIHSE’s international network, trainings, projects, funding support mechanisms, and institutional partnerships.
The membership covers opportunities in training, project collaboration, social impact initiatives, research, and institutional visibility.
As with all IIHSE corporate membership types, Municipality Membership is structured as an annual service subscription.

All metropolitan, provincial, district, and town municipalities — along with their affiliated units such as environmental protection, waste management, human resources, education, public health, or disaster management departments — are eligible to benefit from the membership.

Municipality memberships are issued for one-year periods. Upon request, multi-year subscription options (2–3 years) are also available.

The membership fee is determined according to the municipality’s scale:

  • Town / District Municipalities: The annual membership fee is 5,000 TL.

  • Provincial and Metropolitan Municipalities: The fee is 10,000 TL for provincial municipalities and 15,000 TL for metropolitan municipalities.

Personnel from district municipalities (1 staff member), provincial municipalities (2 staff members), and metropolitan municipalities (3 staff members) may benefit from all educational and professional development opportunities included within the individual membership framework.

Through the municipality’s membership, municipal personnel also gain access to additional discounted rates applied specifically to municipal members for IIHSE services.
In addition, municipal intern students are eligible to obtain IIHSE membership free of charge.

Following the approval of the membership, your municipality is authorized to use the “IIHSE Corporate Member” logo on its website and printed materials.
This logo provides institutional recognition, enhancing international visibility and credibility.
Its use must comply with IIHSE’s official brand guidelines.

Yes. Member municipalities may act as hosts or co-organizers for IIHSE congresses, workshops, seminars, technical field visits, webinars, and social responsibility initiatives.
IIHSE can provide technical content, speaker support, and promotional materials for such collaborations.

The IIHSE Corporate Relations Department, the designated Municipal Membership Representative (relevant departmental directors), and the IIHSE Local Governments Committee jointly manage the membership process.

For each municipality, dedicated corporate representatives are assigned:
1 representative for district municipalities,
2 representatives for provincial municipalities,
and 3 representatives for metropolitan municipalities.

These representatives may benefit from all individual membership opportunities free of charge and can advance their competencies in health, safety, and environmental management through IIHSE’s resources and development programs.

The municipality submits its membership application by completing the IIHSE Municipality Membership Form.

The municipality accepts IIHSE’s ethics declaration and the terms of the service agreement.

Following the approval of the Board of Directors, a cooperation protocol is signed.

Membership introduction and access information (logo, portal access, training access) is then provided to the municipality.

Yes. Under the municipality membership, discounted individual membership rates are provided to municipal employees and personnel of municipal subsidiaries.
This allows staff members to personally benefit from IIHSE trainings, CPD programs, and the global professional network.

In addition, IIHSE covers the individual membership fees of 1 corporate representative for district municipalities, 2 for provincial municipalities, and 3 for metropolitan municipalities, granting them full membership rights.
This ensures continuous professional development for the individuals who lead and represent the institution.

Absolutely. Within IIHSE’s “Healthy, Safe and Sustainable Cities” program, member municipalities may take part in social responsibility and public awareness campaigns based on their needs and operational capacity.
These initiatives enhance community participation and provide visible contributions to the municipality’s sustainability objectives.

Yes. Your successful implementations, projects, or campaigns may be featured in IIHSE’s international journals and reports.
This ensures that your municipality’s best practices gain visibility at the global level.

At the end of the year or the agreement period, an impact assessment report is prepared by the IIHSE Membership Consultant.
The municipality may then renew its membership under the same conditions or expand its scope if desired.
